Mimic the Teacher
A game that will bring out the crazy and creative sides of many of the alumni is to play the "Mimic the Teacher" game. Everyone remembers certain teachers from the way they spoke, the way they looked or the assignments they gave. Once the game gets started, more people will be willing to wade into the game wanting to mimic their favorite or least favorite teachers.
Recognize the Picture
No matter how long it has been since the class graduated, major changes will have occurred. On the invitation, ask alumni to bring pictures of themselves as a baby. When they arrive, give them a picture of themselves from the yearbook along with a name tag. The alumni should place their baby picture and yearbook picture on different spots on a board and have everyone try to guess who is who on the board. Provide a small prize to the person who gets the most correct.
Graduation Year Jeopardy
Break the alumni into two or three separate groups to participate in a game of Jeopardy. The categories in the game should relate to the year the students graduated. Some topics may include music, movies, world events, sports and teacher photographs. Each team should rotate so everyone who wants a chance to play has an opportunity. Winners should receive a small prize for knowing about the year they graduated.
Know Your Classmate Game
Place all the names of attending alumni in a hat and have each classmate draw a name out of the hat. The goal of the game is to learn a secret about the person whose name was drawn that no one else knows. Gather the group together and share the secret with everyone. The alumni try to guess which classmate the secret belongs to. Be sure that the secrets are in good fun so no one walks away with hurt feelings.
