Directions for Rubik's Cubes

Most people struggle with their Rubik's cube for hours without being able to solve it. Solving a Rubik's cube is no simple feat, but with these steps you can get the method down pat and impress your friends whenever you pull out your Rubik's cube. Keep in mind that the color of the center piece on each face will determine the color that entire face will be when the cube is completely solved. Thus, in these instructions, "yellow face" will refer at all times to the face of the cube in which the center piece is yellow. Center pieces cannot be turned or changed.

Instructions

  1. Make a White Cross

    • 1

Find the white face of your Rubik's cube, which is the face that has a white piece in the center. Hold your cube so that this side faces up.

    • 2

Turn the blue and white edge piece toward the yellow face, then turn it on the bottom so it is directly beneath the blue center piece. Each is a quarter-turn rotation.

    • 3

Hold the cube so the white center piece faces upward again.

    • 4

Turn the blue face until the blue and white edge piece is on the white face. Turning a whole face means rotating all the pieces on that face at once. The white edge piece should be on the white face and the blue piece should be directly above the blue center piece.

    Get the White Corners

    • 5

      Turn the blue face forward.

    • 6

Turn the yellow face once left.

    • 7
