Kickball
Parks with sports fields are fun for hosting a game of kickball. The rules and objective of kickball are similar to baseball. The team that scores the most points by having its players round three bases without striking out, either at home base, being tagged by opponents or having their balls caught, wins the game. However, in kickball you use your foot to kick a ball that's about the size of a basketball, instead of a hitting a baseball with a baseball bat.
Dodgeball
Find a park with a wide and open field for a fun game of dodgeball. Scatter players across the field. The objective of dodgeball is to eliminate every player on your opponent's team. You can do this by hitting an opposing player below the shoulders with your ball, or by catching a ball that an opposing player throws at you. When these two things happen, the opposing player is considered out of the game. The first team that eliminates every player on the opposing team wins.
Tug of War
Tug of War is a game of strength and endurance between two opposing teams. Pick a flat area of the park to conduct this fun game. Get a large, sturdy rope that is at least 120-feet long. Create two teams of at least six players each, with the biggest players anchoring the ends of both sides of the rope. Pick one person to act as judge. Mark a line on the ground, which will serve as the center line. Mark the middle of the rope. Once a player on a team, or the opposing team's section of the rope, crosses the center line, his team losses.
Sack Race
Sack races are fun events that require skill and strategy to master. A sack race can be challenging but fun, because racers have limited uses of their arms and legs. In a normal race, racers use their arms and legs to help propel them down a track. Use large potato sacks or pillow cases for players to get into. The player who crosses the finish line first wins the race. Make your sack race even more challenging by setting up obstacles along the race course.
