Kids Games That You Can Create Faces & Characters

Creating a character is like playing dress-up on steroids. You can make characters that look like you do, look like you wish you did, or in some cases just express your wild side and imagination. Not all character games are computer games. You can wear masks and even paint your face to look different. In fact, there are conventions where everyone expresses themselves through costumes and makeup.
  1. Dress-Up Cards

    • When you're small, a large scarf can be so many things: a skirt, a shawl, a belt, a sling, hair or whatever you can imagine. Collect a variety of scarves, play jewelry, cheap beads, tablecloths, big sunglasses, hats, umbrellas, eye-patches and other zany items. For each item, write up a card. Each player should pull three cards, put an outfit together using the items listed on the cards and make up a character to go with the outfit. If another player guesses who you are, you both get to pull one more card.

    Barbie

    • If your child likes playing Barbie, she will like designing her own Barbie with Create Your Own Barbie. Pick the dress and its color; select the jewelry to go with the outfit including earrings and necklace. You can also change Barbie's hair, lips and eye color. You can even change the background, but you can't get rid of that hair veil.

    Avatar

    • When it comes to playing dress up, the movie "Avatar" suggests us the ultimate dress-up dream. While you can't transfer your mind into an avatar body yet, you can create an online avatar of your very own. Choose a face to get started, then add clothes, pets and props. Add hair and shoes and select a background. After you click "create character," you can right-click the image and download it to your own computer.

    Turn Into a Cartoon

    • Use Be Funky to turn yourself into a cartoon. Upload your own photo and then play with the settings until you have made yourself as funky as you'd like. To get that cartoon effect, select the "create" button and then pick "artsy" from the drop-down menu. Now, on the right you'll see "cartoonizer" as an option. There are a couple of different cartoon styles available and you can change many settings such as the brightness, the smoothness of the color, the amount of detail and something called "clutter cleaner," which simplifies some of the details. After you've turned yourself into a cartoon, you can save or print your new look.
