Games with Balloons

• Play a game of crab soccer or volleyball with balloons. For crab soccer, use two cardboard boxes for goals and have players try to kick a balloon into the cardboard boxes to score points. Players must stay in a crab walk position (bottom toward the floor with hands and feet on the floor) at all times. Play balloon volleyball by hanging a string across the middle of the room. Players divide into two teams and play against one another using the same rules as volleyball.

Games with Foam Balls

• Stick a miniature basketball hoop on a door or wall and play a game of basketball with foam balls. You can also see who can make the most baskets from a certain distance. Another option is to place several buckets, bowls or empty cans on the floor. Mark a starting line about 10 feet from the buckets, bowls and cans. Have players stand at the starting line and toss the balls into them. The player who gets the most balls in wins the game.

Games with Cotton Balls

• Have one person sit in a chair and place a bowl of cotton balls in his lap. Blindfold the player and give him a spoon. Hold an empty bowl on top of his head. Give him one minute to scoop as many cotton balls as he can from the bowl in his lap to the one on his head. The player who scoops the most cotton balls into the bowl in one minute wins the game.

  You can also make a game board with a cardboard box. Cut several holes out of the bottom of a cardboard box and write point values around each hole. Mark a standing line and have players try to toss cotton balls into the holes for points. The player with the most points after tossing 10 cotton balls wins the game.

Games with Feathers

• Give one feather to each player and have her practice keeping the feather in the air by blowing it. After everyone practices for five minutes, see who can keep his feather in the air the longest without it touching the ground. Once a player's feather touches the ground, she is out of the game. You can also have a race to see who can blow her feather across the room the fastest after laying it on the floor. Players must get on all fours to blow the feather across the floor.
