Five Hundred
Ball games are great ways to encourage children to engage in physical activities. One of the most-played ball games for kids is "Five Hundred." The game needs a minimum of two players and the players need a ball which they can throw during the game. Nearly any type of ball can be used. One child serves as the "pitcher," or the one who throws the ball while specifying a number between fifty and five hundred. The player who catches the ball gets a score equal to the number specified by the pitcher; however, if a player drops the ball, points equal to the number specified by the pitcher will be deducted from his total score. The first player who gets to 500 points wins.
Jailbreak
Another physical game that can be played by kids is "Jailbreak," otherwise known as "Freedom." Players are divided into two groups with a minimum of three members. The first group to play will be decided through a coin-toss. While the first group takes the time to hide, the second group covers their eyes and counts until they reach an agreed number. When a member of the first team is caught by the second team, he will be put into "jail" and guarded.
The jailed member's teammates can free him by tagging the jail and shouting "Freedom!" However, if the person attempting to free the jailed player gets captured by the jail guard, he must join his teammate in jail. The second group will take their turn to hide once they have captured all the members of the first group.
