Commercial Board Games
Commercial board games, such as Taboo and Sorry, are popular at sleepovers. Taboo requires two teams both consisting of at least two people. A person from one team will get a word on a Taboo card, and he will have one minute to give clues to this teammate(s). His team earns one point if his teammate(s) guesses the word on time. Sorry is a game combining strategy and luck. Players will have to get their pieces across the board before the opposing players knock his piece out of the way. The first person who moves all their pieces across the board wins.
Mafia
Mafia is a detective game. Ideally, it requires at least five players, preferably more. One person moderates the game, and he keeps his head up the entire time. The moderator tells the other players to put their heads down and close their eyes. While everyone "sleeps," the moderator selects one person as the mafia member; this person kills someone. Afterward, he puts his head down like the other players, and pretends as if nothing happened. When everyone else wakes up, the moderator reveals the murder victim's name; the other players must guess who is the mafia member.
Trivia Board Games
Trivia board games allow you to simultaneously learn and have fun. The Jeopardy Board Game is a popular trivia game. Like the televised version, a player will get a trivia question; the money awarded for a correct answer varies according to difficulty. The member who earns the most at the end wins. Those who enjoy American culture will relish the "American Trivia Board Game"--a game that asks players questions about American history and culture.
Truth or Dare
Truth or dare is one of the most popular sleepover games. It ideally requires at least two players, preferably more. As its name implies, the player must either choose between a dare or a truth (see references 1). If he chooses a dare, his teammate will ask him to do something, which is usually outrageous or awkward. However, if he chooses a dare, he must truthfully answer a question.
