Games for the TI-86

Texas Instruments' TI-86 calculator is a multi-function, graphing calculator for students and industry professionals. This calculator helps you visually graph functions and figure out equations. You can, however, do more with your TI-86 calculator than simply solve problems. You can add games to it, including classic arcade, problem-solving and adventure games. Generally, these games are free, but always read the description of the game to determine if your chosen game has a fee. You can download these games directly from the listed websites.
  1. Fortune City

    • The Fortune City website offers a series of games specifically for the TI-86 calculator. You must download these games to your computer and then upload them to your calculator, and you must have the computer-to-calculator data cord to do this. All of the games are contained within a zip file. Examples of these games include an archery game and the classic arcade game Breakout, where you have to hit a ball at bricks.

    Turkeyland.net

    • Turkeyland.net offers programs and games for both the TI-85 and TI-86 calculators. You must also have the computer-to-calculator data cord to upload these games to your calculator. Games on this site include the arcade game PacMan 99, where you must control your PacMan and eat as many of the balls as possible without running into a ghost. Also on this site is Frogger v1.0, where your goal is to get across a river and a highway without losing your life.

    TI-86 World

    • The TI-86 World site offers you BASIC language, monochrome games and they are generally a mixture of text and simple graphics. These games are for one or two players. An example of these games is Adventure, where you are living in a fantasy world, and you must complete missions and defeat ogres who are trying to kill you. The Almighty Bob vs. the Ed game is a betting game, where Bob and Ed are in a match to the death, and you are betting on who will win the match.

    CalcG.org

    • The CalcG.org also offers TI-86 BASIC language games, and the games on this site include shooting, racing, problem-solving and sports games. An example of these games is Mancala 86, which is based on an ancient Egyptian pebble and pit game. You are gathering stones from a small pit and dropping them. The goal is to land your last stone in the larger pit (the mancala) and have the most stones at the end of the game.
