PS3 Wireless Guitar Replacement Parts

Guitar Hero and Rock Band are two games compatible with Sony's Play Station 3, or PS3. The former, in particular, has sold millions of copies in its different formats. Finding parts for the wireless guitar used in these games is going to be a tricky enterprise. Additionally, the repairer will need some electronics knowledge to complete the project if they are lucky enough to find appropriate parts.

Problems
- The first thing to acknowledge is that finding individual parts for one of these guitars is going to be really difficult. By the time you've located them, paid for them and fixed the guitar yourself you're probably going to be wondering why you just didn't pay for a new one in the first place. One of the primary reasons this is so tough is because one guitar is not necessarily compatible with another. For instance, there are different model guitars and different compatibilities between them, the different games (like Guitar Hero 1, 2, &3), and the game systems themselves.

- The best place to look for advice, parts or a replacement guitar is through the actual producer of the game. There is a website solely dedicated to Guitar Hero where all the requisite gear is displayed and priced. Additionally, they offer online technical assistance to their customers who "need help rocking out." In addition to hardware support, you can also procure lost game manuals if necessary.
Other Manufacturers
- The original wireless guitar that came with your PS3 was made by Sony. However, there are several manufacturers that provide additional compatible wireless guitar devices for the PS3. Although not limited to the following, the two most prominent brand names are probably MadCatz and Logitech. Identifying which product you have will be important when researching tech and parts support.
