Use Hints Wisely
You have five hints for the set of scenes that make up each level. On the right side of your screen is a counter that shows how many objects you have left to find on that level. Save your hints until the counter shows five or fewer. If you're running out of time, you can use the hints to find the last few objects quickly.
Manage Multiples
Sometimes you have to find multiples of one item; for example, two spoons. Even though "two spoons" is only one item on your list and on the counter, the game counts them as two objects. If you plan to use clues for multiples, remember that you'll need a clue for each of the multiple items.
Change Scenes
You don't have to find all the objects in one scene before searching another scene. You might find yourself staring at a scene and not seeing the objects you need. If that happens, use the "Map" button to go to another scene. When you go back to the previous scene, the break you took often helps you see items you were overlooking.
Consider Alternatives
The same word can describe different things, and your interpretation may be different from the game developer's interpretation. For instance, "horn" can mean a musical instrument or an animal's horn, or "fan" can be an electric fan or a hand-held fan. Keep this in mind as you search -- you don't want to miss an object because of a misunderstood term.
Look in Unusual Locations
Objects are often in places where you wouldn't expect to find them in real life. A cheese grater could be sitting on a shelf, but you also might find it on the floor or on the seat of a chair. Look for straight objects in horizontal or vertical places. A ruler could hide along the edge of a table; a knife might be at the top of a picture frame. Check for items placed on other items of the same color -- a frog on a plant or bunch of broccoli, or an egg on a light bulb.
Collect Batteries
In some levels in the game, you'll click on a scene, but it's completely dark. You'll see a message explaining that you need a battery to power your flashlight. When this happens, go to other scenes in the same level and look for the yellow and black battery. Or, if you're searching a scene and see a battery, click on it even though it's not on your list of items to find. It will come in handy at some point.
