Games for 6 Year Old Girls

When planning a party or get-together for six-year-old girls, be sure to plan age-appropriate games the girls will love. From a balloon popping team race to a girly scavenger hunt, challenge the girls to participate in party games by awarding prizes to all game winners. A few supplies, your imagination and some creativity are all you need to get the party started.
  1. Balloon Team Popping

    • Inflate 30 pink balloons and 30 purple balloons before the party starts. Divide the girls into two teams. Tell one team they are "Team Purple" and the other team they are "Team Pink." Mix all the balloons up and place them in the party area. When you say, "Go," the players must pop their team-colored balloons. The first team to pop all their team balloons wins the game. For added fun, place a couple of small prizes, such as lip gloss, costume jewelry and stickers, in some of the balloons and the players who pop those balloons can keep those prizes.

    Spin the Nail Polish

    • Have the girls sit around a table and place a basket of nail polish in the middle of the table. Select one girl to go first, who must select a nail polish out of the basket. Tell her to spin the bottle in the middle of the table. The girl the nail polish lid points at when it stops spinning must paint one of her nails that color. That player must pick a new color and spin again. The first girl to have all her fingernails painted wins the game. Keep playing until all the girls have their nails painted. Have an adult help the girls paint their nails each time.

    Telephone Game

    • Write down sentences, such as "It is Ashley's birthday today and she is six years old" and "The sun is shining outside so we should go out and play," on small slips of paper. Have the girls sit in a circle and show one girl a sentence. She must whisper the sentence in the ear of the girl next to her. The girls have to keep passing the sentence around the circle by whispering it in each other's ear. The last girl to hear the sentence has to say it aloud. If the sentence makes it all the way around the circle without being changed, all the girls win a small prize.

    Girly Scavenger Hunt

    • Purchase several girly items, such as tiaras, necklaces, lip gloss, small toys, pens, notepad and hair accessories, and hide them all over the party area. Give each girl a pink party favor bag to hunt for prizes. Each girl can take home all the prizes she finds as party favors.
