Tic Tac Toe
Tic Tac Toe is a game that can be played with two kids. It can be played by asking questions or just by drawing an "X" or an "O" in a square. If it is played with questions, the child who answers the question correctly gets to put his chosen letter into a square. If it is played by inserting letters, only, the player tries to block the other's letter by putting his letter in the box, first. The player that gets three of his letters in a row (down, across or diagonally) wins the game.
Hangman
This game is played using two or more children, and often utilizes the categories of "phrases," "movie titles" and "names." One child writes out blanks that will need to be filled in using letters. The other child tries to guess the letters in the title or phrase. When the child guesses incorrectly, a part of the stick figure is added, until the completed stick figure is hanging from the noose. However, if the child guesses the letters correctly, and ultimately guesses the phrase, she is the winner.
Word Building
This game can be played with two or more children. One child writes down a letter and the next child has to add a letter and start to build a word. This is a good game to help with spelling and vocabulary. It also can be played using sentences. One child writes a word and the next child adds a word that will help to make a sentence. The object of the game is to build words and sentences that make sense. It can even be played until there a short story unfolds.
Drawing Guessing Game
This game begins with a child choosing something she wants to draw. She begins to add a couple of lines or shapes to the drawing and gives the other players a chance to guess what it is she is drawing. If they guess incorrectly, she adds more to the picture, until someone guesses correctly.
