LEGO Race Games

As part of LEGO's "City" theme, LEGO's various vehicle toys appeal to kids who enjoy connecting brick pieces together to construct cars and taking the pieces apart to make new creations. Children with an interest in racing LEGO cars can play race games that help them reach their desired LEGO racing glory.
  1. Crosstown Craze

    • Players attain championship status upon winning three rounds of racing in "Crosstown Craze," accessible at the LEGO Racers site. To speed up, players press the "Up" arrow key. Pressing the "Down" arrow sets the brakes in motion, while pressing the "Left" and "Right" arrow keys moves the vehicle in those directions. If players beat their opponent, they advance to the next round. The game ends if players fail to win a race.

    LEGO Race 3000

    • Rolling a LEGO dice full of movement and non-movement squares, players compete to race one full lap around a LEGO track and collect the championship trophy in "LEGO Race 3000," a LEGO board game recommended for ages 7 and up. Game features include shortcuts and turbo boosts that advance players on the board, oil slicks that slow players down and the ability for players to change lanes or overtake rival cars.

    LEGO Racers Video Games

    • Players must master a series of tracks before taking on LEGO all-time racing champion Rocket Racer in "Lego Racers," available for the PC, Game Boy Color, Nintendo 64 and PlayStation platforms. After building their LEGO car and driver, players race against challengers on tracks with the following themes: "Adventures," "Castle," "Pirates" and "Space."

The sequel game, "Lego Racers 2," requires players to construct a miniature go-kart and master four different worlds to qualify for the Galactic Racing Championship on planet Xalax. Available for the PC, Game Boy Advance and PlayStation 2 platforms, "Lego Racers 2" features the return of Rocket Racer and requires players to collect enough "Golden Bricks" to advance and access worlds. LEGO worlds include "Arctic," "Dino Island," "Mars" and "Sandy Bay."

    The Robot Chronicles

    • Sponsoring the Speed Inferno Challenge, evil Dr. Inferno offers a prize to the fastest racer in "The Robot Chronicles," accessible at the LEGO Racers site. With city officials up in arms over the lawless racing, players choose their vehicle and press the directional arrow keys to make their way around the street. A yellow arrow indicates the direction that players must follow in the race.

    Turbo Track: Unfold the Fun

    • Players fix pieces of a shuffled race track in "Turbo Track: Unfold the Fun," accessible at the LEGO Racers site. Using the mouse to select and click tiles, the player clicks a tile until it properly connects to the track piece preceding it. When the timer runs out, the racer starts racing. If the player set the track correctly, the racer reaches the finish line safely and the player advances to the next level. If the player does not finish setting the track in time or if he did not set the track correctly, the racer crashes into a wall.
