Shout DVD Games

With the increase of DVD players in the home, DVD trivia games have seen a rise in usage. Hasbro/Parker Brothers has released a series of DVD trivia games under the "Shout About..." title umbrella, taking in such trivia fields as music, film and television. These games are good either for a family game night or as an icebreaker at a party.
  1. Shout About Movies

    • As of January 2011, Hasbro/Parker Brothers has released four games in the "Shout About Movies" series, designed for participants from 18 years of age and older. Any number of players between four and 40 can take part. The game shows video clips from the history of cinema, from classic films to modern-day blockbusters, and players shout out the answers to questions based on them. Each DVD contains three separate games, each consisting of eight rounds.

    Shout About TV

    • Hasbro/Parker Brothers has two "Shout About TV" DVD games as of January 2011, each designed for players from 18 years of age and up. The game is for two teams of players who watch a variety of video clips, sound bites and still images that are on the DVD before calling out the correct answer. The game features content taken from 50 years of television. Each DVD in the series has three separate games of eight rounds.

    Shout About Music

    • Hasbro/Parker Brothers has two "Shout About Music" games as of January 2011, for those from 18 years of age and up. Players divide into two teams and answer questions in a number of categories based on the music on the DVD. The "Made To Order" round has contestants arrange the songs in the order of release, while "Still Crazies" has players guess the album cover from on-screen image fragments.

    Shout About Country Music

    • A spin-off from the "Shout About Music" series specializes in country and western music. In various rounds, the game requires players to "Name That Song" or fill in the "Missing Lyrics" based upon the music clip they have just heard. The game features both "Whisper Rounds," where players may confer with their teammates, and "Shout Rounds," where the first correct answer a player calls out wins. Originally, Wal-Mart branches exclusively sold "Shout About Country Music."
