Games for Girls 13 & Older

Although many 13-year-old and older girls might think games are for children, there are many games the teens will enjoy playing. Use your imagination to create games for your daughter's next birthday party or get-together. Party games allow any unfamiliar faces a chance to make new friends. Awarding game winners with prizes, such as gift cards, stationary sets and music downloads, encourage the teens to play along.
  1. Toilet Paper Secret Share

    • Play this game as an icebreaker to get all the girls mingling and sharing secrets as soon as the party starts. Have the girls sit in a circle and hand one girl a roll of toilet paper. Tell her to tear off as many squares as she would like, but do not tell her why. The toilet paper goes around the circle and each teen tears off the amount of squares she prefers. After everyone has her squares, explain to the teens that they must share one secret or interesting fact about themselves for each piece of paper square they tore from the roll.

    Foil Outfits

    • Divide the girls into groups of three or four and tell the girls to designate a captain. Give each group a roll or two of aluminum foil. When you say, "Go," the girls have 30 minutes to design an outfit using the foil. The captain models the outfit when time is up. Award a prize for the best, funniest and scariest foil outfit.

    Categories

    • The girls must sit in a circle in the floor or in chairs to play categories. You start by calling out a category, such as states, colors, animals or cartoons. If you say, "States," the girls have to go around the circle and call out a state. The first person who cannot name a state is out of the game. Select another category and keep playing. Each time, the first player who cannot answer an item in the given category is out of the game. You can repeat categories if needed. The last player left in the game is the winner.

    Charade Match Game

    • Before the party, write down several objects on paper, such as a pig, cow, fire truck, cell phone, snake or police car. Be sure to make two cards for each item and mix all the cards in a bowl. Have each girl take one card and hold it in her hand without looking to see what it is. When you say, "Go," the girls look at their card and start to act out what it says. The girls make noises to find the player who has the matching card. The first two players to find their exact match win a prize.
