Instructions
Construct the Base
Measure two pieces of nylon strapping18 inches long and cut. Set aside.
Measure and cut the two pieces of fabric to18-by-38 inches. These pieces will be the bottom part of the bingo cushion.
Place the two pieces of fabric on top of each other with the "right" sides together. Pin the pieces all around the edges in preparation for sewing them together. Leave an opening wide enough to insert the nylon straps on the 18 inch sides directly opposite one another, approximately 7 inches from the end.
Tuck one piece of the strapping in between the short end of the fabric rectangle. Pin the strap to the fabric. Tuck the other end of the strapping about 7 inches away from the other end. The "U" shape of the strap should be sandwiched inside the layers of fabric, leave about 1 inch of strap sticking out of both ends of the strapping.
Sew the edges of the fabric together leaving a ½ inch deep hem. Sew along both long sides of the fabric and the one the short side with the attached strapping.
Hem about 5 inches on each side of the final short side of the rectangle.
Turn the fabric inside out, so the "right" side of the fabric is now visible.
Place the other piece of strapping about 7 inches away from the edge of the fabric and form an upside down "U" shape. Pin the strap to the fabric and tuck the other end of the strapping about 7 inches away from the other end. The bottom 1 inch of each end of the strap should be sandwiched inside the layers of fabric. Sew the remaining fabric together to close it up.
Construct the Pocket
Cut two 18-by-18-inch pieces of fabric. The smaller pieces will be the visible top side of the bingo cushion.
Fold and pin each side of the squares. Use the sewing machine to hem ¼ inch all around the square.
Pin the two smaller rectangles, "right "side up, to the opposite ends of the larger rectangle piece. There will be a space in the middle of the large rectangle that is not covered by a smaller fabric square, this will not affect the final product.
Attach the smaller squares to the larger piece of fabric by sewing around the outside edges of the fabric. Form a pocket by keeping the middle-most side of the smaller square unsewn.
Assemble the Seat Cushion
Tuck the foam pieces into the pockets.
Position the hook and loop adhesive strips inside each pocket. Pin the strips in place.
Attach the adhesive strips to the fabric using an iron, following manufacturer's instructions. This pocket feature allows the cover to be laundered when it becomes dirty.
Fold the two squares together and grip the cushioned seat by the handles to transport to your next bingo game.
