How to Make Tea Games

Creating games for your tea party is not an extremely difficult task. You have many options with tea party games. You may decide to take elements from traditional parlor games played in the Victorian era, or you might choose games that correlate to the theme of your tea party instead. Tea party games for children should be kept short, simple and most importantly fun. You can ensure that your guests are entertained by incorporating games into your tea party.

Instructions

Pile sugar cubes in front of your party guests at the table. Set a timer for one minute. See who can build the tallest sugar cube tower in that time. Give a prize to the winner.

    • 2

Distribute a small piece of paper and marker to each guest. Ask your guests to write their names. Put all of the names into a hat. Draw out one name. Ask this guest to leave the room for two minutes. In this time period have the remaining party guests hide a thimble somewhere in the room where it can be seen. When the first guest returns to the room he must find the thimble in two minutes. If he finds it in the given time reward him with a prize.

Sit at the table and allow each guest to serve herself with food and tea. Allow guests to repeat this process and then say, "Clean cup. Clean cup. Move down. Move down," to direct your guests to move one place down along and around the table, abandoning their plates and cups to whoever took over their seats. Have all the guests set the plates and prepare the tea to their liking. Then have everyone move down another spot, leaving the food and tea for their replacements. Continue to have guests move around the table in this manner until they return to their original seats. At this point have a vote for the strangest plate and cup of tea and award the "owner" of the plate a prize.

Tape pieces of paper to each guest's back and have everyone grab her marker. Organize your guests into a single file line with everyone facing forward. Have the guest at the back of the line draw an image on the paper that is taped to the guest standing in front of her. The next guest now must try to draw the same image on the paper in front of her by feeling what was drawn on her back. Proceed up the line in this manner, with the guest at the front drawing on a blank piece of paper that's held or on a surface. When the final drawing is complete pull the papers off of your guests' backs and compare the drawings to the first one. Give a prize for the most similarly duplicated image.

Ask your guests to sit in a circle on the floor. The objective of this game is to describe 'Frisky Francesca' the cat. Have the first player describe "Our Frisky Francesca" with one word that starts with the letter "A." The next player must then supply an adjective that begins with "B," then the next guest with "C," and so on. Give the game a rhythm by slapping your knees twice and clapping twice per each turn. If the player cannot complete the sentence "Our Frisky Francesca is a _____ cat" with an adjective beginning with the correct letter, she is out and the required letter goes to the following person in the circle. Cycle through the alphabet until you have only one player remaining. Give this guest a prize.

Play this game if you are hosting an Alice in Wonderland-themed party. Paint white poster boards with red and black paints to resemble over-sized playing cards. Arch the cards over and place them around your yard. Bring your guests to the playing field and have them play croquet using upside down plastic lawn flamingos to hit the "hedgehog" striped balls under the arched cards. you can enhance the appearance of your striped balls by painting a hedgehogs eyes and ears on all of them.
