How to Disconnect a Vintage Pinball Machine

Vintage pinball machines are valued by collectors and vendors for their style and design. Often designed to follow a theme, pinball machines use iconic television shows, movies and characters to increase their popularity and visibility -- and to generate more money. Pinball machines use electricity to power the games lights and sounds. Without electricity, a vintage pinball machine is inoperable. You will need to disconnect your vintage pinball machine to move it or perform maintenance on it.

Instructions

    • 1

Check for a kill switch on a machine. Most pinball machines come built with a manual shut-off switch known as a kill switch. The switch is usually located on the back of or underneath the machine.

    • 2

Press the kill switch to turn the power off.

    • 3

Remove the electrical power cord from the outlet to finish disconnecting.
