How to Make a Football Point Plot Game

As a kid, just about everyone can remember the first time they played their first game of paper football. From the technique in your wrist to the way to fold the paper, many of those who played the game absolutely adored it. Making the football point plot is always a ton of fun because all of them are different and challenging in their own unique way. Not only do you need to be aware of your competition, but you need to be mindful of where you move the figure.

Things You'll Need

  • One piece of 11-inch-by-17-inch piece of paper -- preferably green
  • Pencil
  • Ruler
  • Markers -- one brown and one black

Instructions

    • 1

Start off by facing the piece of paper horizontally, drawing two lines, with your pencil and ruler, horizontally from one end of the paper to the other. This should be done ½ inch from the top and 1 inch from the bottom.

    • 2

Draw 11 lines vertically from the two horizontal lines with your pencil and ruler. These lines should all be separated by 1 inch. You should now have 12 vertical spaces on the sheet of paper.

    • 3

Create your own design in the end zones -- the vertical spaces opposite of one another on the furthest sides of the paper -- and at mid-field. You can trace your favorite football team's logo or create your own.

    • 4

Mark each vertical line as its appropriate yard line. Start off with the goal line as "G" and the next one being 10, and so on. Once you get to the 50-yard line, be sure to count back, starting with the 40-yard line and working your way to the other goal line.

    • 5

Use the brown marker to draw five dots spread out along each goal line, one dot at each 10-yard line, five dots at each 20-yard line, two dots at each 30-yard line, and four dots at each 40-yard line.

    • 6

Use the black marker and draw four circles at each 10-yard line, three at each 30-yard line, and four at the 50-yard line. Please note that the middle circles at the 30-yard lines are slightly bigger than the rest and that the circles at the 50-yard line do not touch the logo.

    • 7

Redraw all of your lines with markers and draw two "Down" columns -- labeled 1-4 -- in the bottom horizontal line for each player and two "Score" columns -- two sub columns labeled 0-9 -- in the top horizontal line for each player.
