Things You'll Need
Instructions
Set-Up
Have one player as scorekeeper.
Let each player roll one die. The person with the highest die roll gets to go first. Then, play continues to the player's left.
Decide on a point total before beginning. In classic Farkle, the person to have the highest score over 10,000 points is the winner.
Play
Place the six dice into the Farkle shaker and roll on to a flat surface on your turn.
After each roll, set aside any dice that are worth points. Keep a running total of the points in your head as you continue to roll.
Put the remaining dice into the cup and continue to roll as you see fit. After every roll, set aside any dice that are worth points. Add these points to your running total. If you've set aside all six dice, you can put all the dice back into the shaker on your turn and continue rolling.
Stop rolling at any time and add the points you've received in your running total.
Lose your turn by rolling the dice and not coming up with any dice that are worth points. This is called a Farkle, and play moves to the next player. You don't get to keep any of your points from your running total.
Score 500 points or more on your first turn to be recorded on the score pad. If you don't score 500 points or more on your first turn, play moves to the next person.
Win the game by having the most points over 10,000. If one player reaches 10,000 or above, each additional player has one more turn to try to beat that player.
Scoring
Score points by rolling a single Five or One. A One is worth 100 points while a Five is worth 50 points.
Roll triplets of any number and get the number on the die, multiplied by 100. For example: roll three twos and receive 200 points, three fours is worth 400 points, and so on. The only exception is if you roll three ones, you get 300 points.
Get 1,000 points when you roll four of any number. Roll five of any number and receive 2,000 points. If you roll six of any number, you receive 3,000 points.
Score points with a straight, which is worth 1,500 points.
Get points for other combinations. If you roll three pairs, you get 1,500 points. If you roll a pair and four of any number, receive 1,500 points. If you roll two triplets, you receive 2,500 points.
