Things You'll Need
Instructions
Open a bottle of water and empty it out entirely. Take one of your coins out. Take a small round magnet, one that is strong but smaller in circumference than the coin you are using. Hold it in the other hand than you are holding the coin in. Carefully slide the coin into the top of the water bottle. Place the magnet on the other side of the plastic, so that it holds the coin against the side of the water bottle inside of it. Fill the water bottle almost up to the top with water. The reflection off the water surface will hide the appearance of a coin inside the bottle. If turned the right way away from the audience, the magnet will be hidden as well, under the rim of the bottle's cap.
Ignite a lighter and use it to melt the plastic on the bottle's cap and the seal below the cap. Melt the two together so that it appears to be sealed again. Be careful not to move the magnet or coin when doing this, as it can cause the coin to fall and you may have to start over, though you may also be able to lift the coin out of the water using just the magnet.
Cut double-stick tape with scissors and place it on the palm of your hand, right at the base of where two of your fingers meet. Do this right before you perform the trick.
Perform the trick. Show the audience the other coin. Show them the sealed water bottle, but only from one side. Take the coin in one hand and rub it on the outside of the clear water bottle, covering it with your hand. With the other hand, grip the water bottle, pressing the double stick tape you have on your palm against the magnet. When you remove your hand, the magnet will come off in your hand, releasing the coin inside the bottle, making it appear as if the coin magically went inside. You will then hide the other coin and the magnet in your pocket.
Open the "factory sealed" bottle and pour the water into a glass. Pour the coin out in your hand.
