How to Build Your Own Space Station Game

The possibilities of space exploration are at your fingertips through a free, online space game. If you love space and learning about the planets, you may enjoy learning how to maneuver your own space station or letting your child do so. NASA provides a free online space station game that you can play. You can familiarize yourself with the look of spacecrafts and space stations and imagine yourself as an astronaut exploring the mysteries of the unknown.

Instructions

  Click "Start," "Internet Explorer." Visit NASA's Station Spacewalk Game website (see Resources).

  Click the "Play Now" button.

  Disable the pop-up blocker if your computer is using one. In Internet Explorer, click on the tab reading "Pop-up blocked." A drop down menu appears. Click "Temporarily allow pop-ups."

  Download any needed viewers. The computer will prompt you if additional viewers are needed. If you already have compatible viewers on your computer, your game will load after about a minute.

  Type in your "Astronaut Name" in the box provided.

  Press the "Enter" button, followed by the "Create" button. This creates your profile. Then press the "Start" button.

  Move the mouse around to look around your space station. Read the key to identify the letters you need to press to go left, right, up and down.
