How to Create Your Own Family Tree Game

Researching your family tree is a great way to not only learn where you came from but also to pick up some history. Creating a family tree game can inspire children and other family members to want to learn more about the family as well as the time period the person grew up in. Making a family tree game inspired by the game of "Memory" is simple to create and easy to learn.

Things You'll Need

Pictures of family members
Xerox machine access

Instructions

  Xerox pictures of family members from as far back as your family tree goes. Cut out the pictures and have them laminated if desired. Use pictures of as many family members as you want, but be sure to include an even number of parents and children.

  Place all the cards on the floor or a table. Scramble the cards all around, but do not move the cards once you start playing the game, save flipping the cards over one at a time.

  Have children and other family members play the game by trying to match the parent with the child, like in the game of "Memory." Whoever has the largest number of matches wins the game.
