Cityscape
Visit the Cityscape game website (see Resources).
Click the "Play" button.
Type your last name or a pen name, followed by the name of your city in the two boxes provided on the screen.
Click the "Go!" button.
Click on the icons within the box on the aerial map of your city site. You want to create some order to building in your city. Therefore, for example, you may begin by extracting metals from the mountain ranges by clicking on the "Mining" icon. Next, you might click on the "Police" icon to protect your mines or the "Interstate" icon to move your minerals to a trading point. You earn points by placing infrastructure in the most effective order.
Click on all of the icons in the box until your city is completed. The computer generates a ranking for your city based upon points you score out of 60 available.
City Creator
Visit the official City Creator game website (see Resources).
Click on the yellow "Build" button beneath the "Snoland" icon. You are creating a town in Snoland.
Lay a road in your town. To do this, click on the "Roads" tab. You see an assortment of icons showing different road pavers. Click on one, drag it to your blank screen and release. Build your road by continuing to click and drag pavers to the screen.
Build a neighborhood in your town. To do this, click on the "Buildings" tab. You see an assortment of building and house foundations. Click on one and drag it to the screen.
Top all of your homes and buildings with custom roofs. You can see the roof choices by clicking on the "Roofs" tab.
ElectroCity
Visit the official ElectroCity game website (see Resources).
Click on the orange "Start a New Game" button and wait for the game to load. This takes about a minute.
Type a name for your city in the box provided. Click the orange "Start Game" button.
Click on one of the blocks on the 3-D map that appears on the screen. You are looking for a piece of land to build upon. When you click on the block, information on the land pops up on the right side of the screen. Read this information to decide if the land you have selected is good to build upon.
Click on the "Build" tab.
Click on one of the building options. Some examples are farmland, small wind farm, camp ground and even a ski field. Each of these options costs a different amount of money. Look to the left side of the screen and to the column that lists how much money you have.
Click on the "Build" button to build these options.
Click on the orange "Next Turn" button to survey a new piece of land and build. Your goal is to make money from the different enterprises you build. Your money supply automatically increases as you build your town.
