How to Set Up a Tennis Table

Table tennis, also known as ping pong, is a game in which individuals or teams of two use paddles to hit a ball across a table. Table tennis follows many of the same rules that are used for traditional tennis and is played with a plastic ping pong ball. There are a number of different things you must do to complete the process of setting up a tennis table.

Instructions

    • 1

Spread the table apart (it will be folded in half) by pulling on both sides until the table is completely flat. Place the table on the ground and extend each leg out as far as possible and lock the hinges in place. This is done by pushing up on the hinges until they lock.

    • 2

Attach the first clamp for the table's net along the center line of the table by placing the table in between the clamps and tightening it until it is secure against the table. Make sure the pole is sticking straight up into the air. Slide the circular end of the net over the pole until it is equally distributed amongst the entire pole.

    • 3

Repeat the same process for the clamp on the other end of the table and stretch the net across, making sure that it is not twisted, and attach the other end of the net to the opposite pole. The net should be tight across the table. If not, pull on the poles until the net is tight, and retighten the clamps until the net remains in the tight position.
