Icebreaker Extreme Activity
Use an icebreaker activity to help them get to know about each other. Put a long piece of masking tape down on the floor in a straight line. Then, for example, designate one end of the line for those who like chocolate ice cream and the other end for those who like vanilla; those who like another flavor stand in the middle. You can do the same for other choices, such as "sleep in or get up early," "country or pop music" and "summer or winter."
Alphabet Activity
The object of this activity is for everyone to start a sentence with the next letter of the alphabet. You can start the activity by saying, "Anyone seen my dog," and the next person must go along with the conversation, starting his sentence with the letter B. For example, he could say "Black dog with a blue eyes?" Keep going around the circle using the next letter of the alphabet for each sentence. If you want to play this activity as a game, any player who cannot come up with a sentence is out of the game. Play until you have one player or a few players, and award them a prize.
Dropping Lids
Play a game of dropping lids with one plastic lid like a coffee can lid or oatmeal canister lid. Put enough chairs out for each player, less one chair; the player without a chair gets the lid to start the game. She must go up to a player of the opposite sex and grab his hand. He then grabs the hand of a player of the opposite sex. Keep playing until the player holding the lid drops it on the ground. When she drops it, everyone must find a chair to sit on. The player without a chair gets the lid and starts the activity again.
