Air Hog Games

Air Hogs is the manufacturer of a variety of remote-controlled toys that offer wireless play to spark the imagination. Although their products are mainly dominated by flying vehicles, including helicopters, airplanes and "hovering" crafts, they also have a few selections in the remote-control ground market, including motorcycles and zero-gravity cars. With a bit of imagination, children can create hours of fun-filled and high-energy games to keep them entertained alone or with friends.
  1. Races

    • Races with Air Hogs vehicles would most inherently be a two-player game unless one child is dexterous enough to control two remotes at one time. Many of the Air Hogs models are designed to move in a forward motion, although a few do hover. Children can set up a ground obstacle course made out of small items from around the home, like plastic cups, and race their stunt vehicles or mini zero gravity cars. Less-skilled children can race in a straight line rather than a course. Air vehicles may be slightly more difficult to race, although an open outdoor area can be manipulated to provide a safe start and finish spot.

    Battle

    • Battling with Air Hogs should not involve crashing the vehicles into each other, as this may destroy the toy. Instead, encourage the child to use other available toys, such as Lego's or Lincoln logs to create a city or castle. Insert some small plastic army men, or use pieces from other games to represent people (for example, the figures from candy land). Many of the Air Hogs flying vehicles include a sharp shooter function that shoots missiles that fire independently. This function allows the user to lock in on a target before shooting. Whoever shoots a pre-selected figure in the opposite child's kingdom first is the winner.

    Target Practice

    • The missiles on the Air Hogs sharp-shooting vehicles can also be used for target practice outdoors. Due to the nature of the missiles, choose targets that are lightweight, such as empty milk or juice jugs. On a mid-level table outdoors, align a selection of milk cartons at least six to eight inches apart and attempt to shoot down each target from various angles while flying the aircraft. This game can be played alone or can be a competition with separate target areas set up to see who can shoot all of her targets first.
