Instructions
Write down a riddle on a spare sheet of paper, like "What is black and white and read all over? Answer: A newspaper." Write the riddle at the top of the paper and draw an appropriate number of lines at the bottom of the paper where the player can write in the answer. For example, in the above riddle you would draw nine lines to allow for the nine letters in the word "newspaper."
Think of five or six words that each have a few letters from the riddle answer. For example, when using the answer word "newspaper," you could use clue words like "lane," "swan," "pail," "pent" and "rain."
Write each clue word in a scrambled form underneath the riddle question. Draw a series of blank lines under each clue to correspond with how many letters are in the word. This is where the player will write her unscrambled answer to the clue.
Draw circles around the blank lines where the letters will be that are in the final riddle answer. Repeat this process for each scrambled clue.
