Fun Youth Activities for Teenagers

Teens enjoy getting together with a group of friends, whether it is religious in nature or just teens with a common interest. Activities improve communication and help teens with their emotional and social development. Use your imagination to plan exciting games for a group of teenagers that will keep them laughing and prevent boredom.
  1. Beach Ball Activity

    • Purchase a large, inflatable beach ball and write several questions on it. Write questions like "What is his name?" or "What is her favorite food?" and "How old are you?" Sit the teenagers in a circle and let one person start with the beach ball. This teen will throw the ball to someone in the circle. When that teen catches the ball, she must answer the question closest to her right thumb on the ball. She must respond to the person who threw the ball to her. If she gives the wrong answer, he must correct her and then she throws the ball to someone else, who will answer a question about her. Keep going until all the teens have had two or three turns and learned many interesting things about one another.

    Get In Order

    • Let the teens play an exciting game of "get in order." The teens stand in the middle of the room and you call out random ways for them to get in order. For example, if you yell, "Birth date," the teens must get in order from youngest to oldest using their birthdays. This is even more fun when you call out harder things to do like "height you can jump" or "length of hair."

    Interactive Bingo

    • Make bingo cards with five rows and five columns; the center square is the free space. Create enough cards for each player to have one. Tell the teens the object is to mingle with the other teens and learn interesting facts about them while trying to get a "bingo!" On the squares, write things like "I like anchovies," "I have more than two siblings" and "I have been skydiving." Teens will have to mingle with other teens to find someone whot has done what is on each square. If she finds a teen who has been skydiving, that teen will sign his name in that square. Teens can only sign each bingo card once, so they will have to communicate with everyone. When he has five squares in a roll signed, he will yell, "Bingo!" He comes to the middle of all the teens and explains what he learned about each teen that signed his card.
