How to Create My Dream House Game

Decorating and makeover games are popular and enjoyable choices among both girls and women. Combine girls' enjoyment of decorating and their childhood love of playing house with a game that allows them to design their own dream house. Ideal for birthday parties, sleepovers or simple play dates, the game will stretch their creative minds as well as keep them entertained. The girls can also take their creations home with them as party souvenirs or favors.

Magazines
Construction paper
Scissors
Glue
Paint
Paint brush
Glitter

Instructions

  Distribute a variety of magazines to each girl participating in the game, along with two pieces of construction paper. Choose magazines that focus on home design and interior design as well as magazines that feature doll or play houses.

  Pass out painting supplies such as paint, paint brushes and glitter.

  Instruct the girls to create imagery of their dream house on the pieces of construction paper. One piece of paper is designated for the interior of the house and the other for the exterior.

  Instruct the girls to clip out images from the magazines of items they like, such as whole houses, doors, windows, yards and gardens, to assemble together in a collage on the paper. The girls can also draw their dream houses, or combine the two methods by drawing some aspects and clipping and gluing others.

  Ask the girls to present their dream home designs once everyone has completed their task.

  Declare winners in a variety of categories, such as most creative, most traditional, most unusual and best house overall.
