Envoy Tips

With most car manufacturers, there are a few tips that will help guide you as you drive, maintain and make use of your vehicle's special features. General Motors sport utility vehicle Envoy is no exception to that rule. A few simple Envoy tips and practical guidelines will help you get the most from your SUV.
  1. Comfort Controls

    • The GMC Envoy emerged on the market in 1998 and boasted a series of comfort controls for the vehicle's driver and passengers. The Envoy is not considered to be a luxury SUV, but the addition of the comfort controls adds prestige to the vehicle's feature list. The comfort control systems allow you to control the air flow and adjust the seating options automatically. These comfort levels can be stored electronically, allowing you to choose the settings that match your style selections. The Envoy's personalized settings also allow you to save your mirror settings, so you do not have to readjust them each time a new driver sits behind the wheel. According to the deTechno website, you can recall the climate and temperature control settings, including the amount of air delivery and fan speed, for two different drivers. Due to the complexity of the comfort controls on the Envoy, they should be set up while the vehicle is stationary to avoid distractions while driving.

    Cargo Space

    • Not all GMC Envoy's have a large cargo space, but the XUV model offers a cargo bay that is similar to that of a pickup truck. According to the Automotive website, the GMC Envoy has four tie-down rings that can be adjusted to any of 12 different ring locations. These rings can be used to tie down furniture, luggage, yard equipment and other cargo items, to keep them from sliding back and forth in the cargo area of the Envoy. Additionally, the floor area on the Envoy is designed to be weatherproof. With the touch of a button, a large panel directly above the cargo bay slides forward and opens the cargo area to the outdoors. This cargo area also comes equipped with drains that allow you to empty the space if it should get filled with rain or melting snow. According to the Automotive website, you can adjust a power rear window that seals the passenger area off from the cargo portion in the rear of the vehicle.

    Heated Seats

    • Heated seats are another option on the GMC Envoy that make it seem like a luxury SUV. These heat-adjustable settings allow both the driver and the passenger to regulate their heat preferences individually. If you have difficulty with your heated seat and the passenger or driver seats seem to have lost heating capacity, check under the seat for the fuse. According to the GMC Envoy's owners manual, this fuse can be replaced to repair the heating issues. If the fuse replacement is not sufficient, replace the driver's door module. These corrections should restore heating to the seats.
