Bingo Halls in Pennsylvania

The game of bingo is derived from the Italian lottery, which was first organized in 1530 and remains popular today. New Yorker Ed Lowe created the American version after seeing a similar game called beano at a traveling carnival, where wooden numbers were were chosen randomly and players marked their numbered cards with beans. Today, bingo is often played in nonprofit and church organizations across the United States, including in Pennsylvania.
