Couple Match Games

Couple match games are popular activities during bridal showers, engagement parties, pre-wedding parties and anniversary parties. They're a fun way to break the ice among guests, encourage interaction or find out how much they know the couple or couples being honored at the celebration, or how much the couple or couples know each other. In most cases, the closer the guests in attendance are to the couple, the more enjoyable the games.
  1. Not-Yet-Newlyweds Game

    • Get in touch with the bride and groom before the party and have them answer a set of questions about their likes and dislikes: favorite film, song, color, time of day, travel spot, first date and so on. Ask these questions to the guests at the party to find out who among their friends knows the couple best. Give a prize to the one who gets the most number of correct answers.

    Compatibility Game

    • In this game, you will find out which couple knows about each other really well, or remembers most of the important events in their lives as a pair. It's more fun if three or more couples participate. Have the men sit separately from the women. Give each player papers and pen. Then ask questions like "What was the first gift he gave you?" or "Which physical feature attracted you to him?" The couples' answers should match for each question. The pair that gives the most correct answers at the end of the game wins.

    Celebrity Couple Match

    • Separate the guests into small groups. Hand each group a piece of paper, printed with names of celebrity couples. Put the names of men on the left column, and the women's names on the right column. The task is to simply match each woman with her current beau. The first group to complete the task with the most correct answers wins.

    Bag a Mate

    • You'll need large paper grocery bags for this game. Separate the couples by gender and have them put the grocery bags over their heads. With everyone's head concealed, guide them to the center of the room, so the men and women are mixed together. Give the go signal to start the game. Each one should feel around for his or her partner, without talking. The first couple to find each other wins the game.

    Bible Couples Matching Game

    • This follows the same rules as the Celebrity Couple Match, but instead of celebrities, Biblical characters are paired. For example, Abraham and Sarah, Joseph and Mary, Moses and Zipporah, Isaac and Rebekah, Boaz and Ruth, and so on. It is best played by friends belonging to Christian groups or church organizations.
