How to Make a Wheel of Fortune at Home
Draw a sketch of what you want your wheel to look like. Include a list of materials you will need to make it unique, including glitter and brightly colored paint. Use photos of the Wheel of Fortune TV show for examples of how your wheel should look.
Draw a circle on your wood or poster board, using a template to ensure your circle is large enough and perfectly round. Use scissors or a power tool such as a jigsaw to cut out your circle. You can also use a router. Mark the center of your circle and drill a hole at the mark.
Paint your wheel into different sections, and customize it. You can stencil on dollar amounts as found on the Wheel of Fortune TV show, or you can use photographs, funky fabrics, or just write out what the prize will be for landing on that designated spot.
Build a stand. This completely depends upon how you want your wheel to spin and what your skill level will allow. You can purchase metal or plastic stands, or you can make a stand out of a car axle and a washer.
Bolt the center of the wheel into the stand. Be sure to loosen it enough for a good spin.
