Fun Hairdressing Games for Girls

Whether you're organizing games for your little girl's party or sleepover, or are just trying to find activities to keep your kids busy, hairdresser games are perfect for entertaining young girls. There's no need to have a specific objective or prizes (unless otherwise desired), just give the instructions and let the kids have fun.
  1. Blindfolded Makeover

    • Have one child sit in a chair and blindfold the second child. Set a small container of hair-styling supplies such as hairbrushes, combs, barrettes, headbands and ponytail holders next to the blindfolded child. Stay away from objects such as hair dryers, flat/curling irons and hairsprays as these may prove dangerous for blindfolded children to handle. Have the blindfolded child style the hair of the sitting child. Once complete, blindfold the sitting child and have her do the second child's hair. Be sure to take plenty of photos; this game provides plenty of laughter, and you'll want to capture images of all the crazy styles.

    Hair Fashion Show

    • A hair fashion show involves allowing the girls to style each others' hair as desired. After every girl has a new, unique style, set up an area for a "runway" and have the girls parade up and down it to show off their hairstyles. Point out the special things about each girl's style and give each participant an award for it. Take photos of the event and the individual styles and give them to the girls later as a keepsake.

    Doll Hairdresser

    • Make a trip to the dollar store and purchase several dolls with trimmable hair. Give each girl one of the dolls along with a supply of glitter, rounded scissors and markers to "dye" the hair with. Allow them to cut and style the dolls hair in their preferred 'do. When finished, have each girl make up a story for her doll and why her hair is styled in its specific way. Let the girls keep the dolls along with a quick written or typed copy of their story.
