Morale Booster Games

Oftentimes, a group of people working together can start to lose sight of the reason they have come together. When the group morale becomes too low, you may want to perk your peers up by taking part in some games that help raise everyone's spirits and remind them of their common goals.
  1. Ha-Ha Game

    • A good laugh every once in a while can make anyone feel better. This cheerful game starts with all players assembling themselves into a standing circle. A random player from the group says a single "ha" in a boring tone. The player to his right then says "ha" twice. This pattern continues around the circle. When a player has her turn, all other players must remain stony-faced and silent because the object is not to laugh. If a player gets caught talking, smiling or laughing, he gets eliminated from the game. The last player in the circle wins the game.

    Things in Common

    • If you want to remind everyone of the things they share with their peers, play this game. Start by seating all of the players in a horizontal line of chairs. Pick one of the players to stand at the front of the room and face the players sitting down. Tell her to share an experience or interest she enjoys. For example, experiences like travelling to Hawaii or interests like reading romance novels works well. After she states something, all players who share her interest or experience stand up. They just as quickly have to switch chairs. The person at the front of the room also has to try and find a chair. The player left without a chair has to then state an interest or experience of his own. This pattern continues until everyone has had a chance to share something.

    Egg and Spoon Race

    • A relay race can bring a group's spirits up as they work together as a team. Begin this relay game by dividing the group into two teams. Line the teams up a few feet from each other on one side of an open space. Hand the first player in each team an egg and a spoon. When you say "Go," the players race to the opposite side of the room and back to their lines with their eggs balanced on the spoons. Once they return to their teams, the players hand the spoons and eggs to the next players in line. If a player drops his egg, he has to start over from the front of his line with a new egg, if needed. The first team to have all its players back in line wins the game.
