How to Score a Dice Game With 6 Dice

Farkle, also known as Dix Mille, Ten Thousand, Texas Bandit and an array of other names, is a widely played dice game that uses six dice. While Farkle's history is disputed, it is certainly a very old game with origins that may go back to the 14th century. Players take turns rolling six dice and accumulate points according to the numbers they roll. The player with the highest score over 10,000 points wins.

    • 4

Award 3,000 points for a straight. A straight consists of the 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 faces showing after a single roll of the dice.

    • 5

Award 1,500 points for a combination of three pairs, including a roll that has a single pair and four of a kind.

    • 6

Award zero points if the roll of the dice does not contain any points, and wipe out any points that were accumulated during that player's turn up to this roll. This is considered a Farkle. Discontinue the roll and pass the dice to the next person.
