Breaking Bread
Most churches take time for those who attend to share a meal together. These events may be scheduled periodically on the church calendar or may be reserved for special occasions. Members of the congregation often prepare the food. This makes the event less expensive and creates a variety of foods from which to choose. The activity allows people to get to know each other.

The event may start with dinner, followed by a various activities. The youth are segregated by sex when it comes time to sleep, although participants don't generally get a lot of sleep. The event breaks up sometime after breakfast, although if the lock-in happens on a Saturday night, participants may attend Sunday activities before they go home.

Game Night
Game nights can appeal to any age group. Participants may bring games in and socialize over the game tables or there may be group games planned. The activity is a good one for bringing people together to have fun, and often cost little to host.

These may be themed events to collect items for a group project or just a night of fun. There is usually a prize for the group that collects all the items and does it in the shortest amount of time.
Sword Drills
Sword drills are Bible Trivia games. The game leader may choose a passage of scripture, a Bible character or event, and the game participants compete to be the first to locate it in their Bibles. A prize may be awarded to the participant who provides the most correct answers.
