Mystery Finding Games

Mystery finding games come in many forms. You can play board games, jigsaw puzzles or party games with family and friends. When you prefer to play alone, try computer games. If you're a fan of classic mystery novels such as Agatha Christie or Sherlock Holmes, you can even play games based on those stories and characters.
  1. Board Games

    • A classic mystery game, Clue involves a murder at a mansion with six suspects, six possible weapons and nine rooms. Several different versions have appeared, such as those based movies and TV shows like on Harry Potter, The Office, 24 and The Simpsons. Another classic board game, 221B Baker Street, features Sherlock Homes trying to solve mysteries and crimes. Players in CSI mystery board games compete to be the first to prove a crime's means, motive and opportunity. Some games come in the form of jigsaw puzzles; players have to finish assembling the puzzles to get the clues to solve the mysteries.

    Party Games

    • Party hosts often feature mystery games to entertain the guests. For example, actors come to act out a murder and the guests have to guess who the murderer is. The party host could also buy a party kit with instructions on how to play the game during the party. The kit might include such props as a sound effects CD, costume and food suggestions, invitations, character profiles and a solution to the mystery.

    Computer Games

    • Some classic mystery stories and games have computer-based versions, for example, Clue, Agatha Christie and Nancy Drew. These games usually involve the player collecting clues through the stages of the games to solve a mystery. You can play some of these games online. Online mystery games include CDX, Covert Front, Death in Sakkara, Detective Grimoise, Detective Jack French, Mystery P.I and Sleuth.
