Super Shape Building with Geo
Super Shape Building with Geo is a game on the Nick Jr. website in which kids get to use shapes to make cool things with one of the show Team Umizoomi. First, kids must choose the blueprint for what they want to collect shapes for: a submarine, helicopter or a hot air balloon. They are then presented with a cartoon cityscape. Hidden within the picture are various shapes, which are needed for the blueprint. When a shape is found, players click and it is added to the blueprint. Once all of the shapes are found, Geo asks players to sing "super shapes" along with him. After Geo sings, the shapes turn into the object chosen at the start of the game. Players can then print a card of their creation or they can play the game again.
I Love Shapes
I Love Shapes is a game on the PBS Kids website starring the curious, and in this game talkative, little monkey Curious George. Players help George sort out shapes as they slide out of a machine and onto three conveyor belts. Players are then asked to help George collect a certain shape, such as blue triangles. As these come out of the machine, players must position George in front of that particular conveyor belt. To do this, players can use the up and down arrow keys or the cursor. After each round is completed, the game becomes more complex. Players are then asked to click on any object that is the same shape and color as a given shape. Also, the variety of shapes that come out onto the conveyor belt also grows.
Oscar's Trash Collection
The game Oscar's Trash Collection is also on the PBS Kids website and stars the Grouch that resides on Sesame Street. He has a lot of junk that needs sorting and he wants help doing it. He asks players to sort his collection of "treasures," such as a broken picture frame and a dirty beach ball. He has shelves, which he wants the things placed on and categorized by color or shape.
