What Is a Squirtle in Pokemon?

Pokemon started as a television series but has since transformed into a cultural phenomenon. The main character on the show and in the Pokemon games, Ash, attempts to become a Pokemon master with his team of Pokemon such as Pikachu, Charmander, Bulbasaur and Squirtle.

Starter Pokemon
- Squirtle is one of the three starter Pokemon that a player can choose in the "Red," "Blue," "Fire Red" and "Leaf Green" versions of the game. A player must trade to get Squirtle in other versions.
Evolutions
- Squirtle evolves into Wartortle at level 16 and then into Blastoise at level 26. While starting as a cute turtle during the first stage, its final stage, Blastoise, is a powerful, tough-looking Pokemon.
Advantages, Weaknesses and Moves
- Squirtle is strong against the fire, rock and ground type of Pokemon and is weak against the grass, electric, dragon and water type of Pokemon. It can learn moves such as Water Gun, Skull Bash and Hydro Pump.
