Ring Toss
The ring toss game requires players to toss a rope, plastic or wood ring over a target. Operators of the carnival can float the targets in water to present a bigger challenge to players or use targets in various shapes, such as those of animals.
Basketball Shoot
The basketball shoot game usually gives players a specific number of shots in which they have to make a basket. The player who makes the shot may win a prize. Use a large basket size for small children to make the basketball shoot a little easier.
Dunk Tank
A dunk tank gives players the pleasure of knocking someone into a tank filled with water. One person sits on a bench inside the dunk tank while the players aim for a target. The target activates a mechanism to release the seat, knocking the person into the water. The game moderator can award a prize to players who successfully hit the target, although dunking someone is generally the best prize.
Bottle Knockdown
To play the bottle knockdown game, players use balls to knock over bottles set up in a pyramid shape on a platform a specific distance away. The player is typically given a set number of balls to use to try to knock over the bottles successfully. Use old-fashioned milk bottles or soda bottles for the game. Prizes such as stuffed animals are common in the bottle knockdown game.
Archery
Players have three chances to hit a target with a bow and arrow. The carnival can award prizes to players when they hit the target successfully. Younger children may stand closer to the target when practicing archery. Variations of an archery game can include a dart game. Always practice extreme safety when hosting potentially harmful games around small children; children participating in an archery game should be overseen by adults.
Balloon Pop
Small children enjoy popping balloons to win prizes at a carnival. The operator of the carnival places tags with prizes written on them inside the balloons. A child can then select a balloon and pop it to reveal the prize.
