Roller Coaster Creator
In the online game Roller Coaster Creator, the player must create more and more creative coasters in order to advance through the games levels. Coasters are created by using a virtual pencil to draw a line from the starting point to the end platform on the other side of the game screen, and to add predefined special sections of track. As the game progresses, players are challenged to incorporate increasingly complex designs, such as loops and swirls.
Build Your Own Coaster
The Discovery Channel's online game, Build Your Own Coaster, allows players to use various track pieces to build a custom roller coaster. The pieces snap together like the pieces of a puzzle and they can be placed on the path in any combination. The pieces of track are shown at the top of the game screen as icons and include loops, dips, hills, ramps, and even a tunnel. Players use their mouse to click, hold and then drag a coaster piece where they want to place it. If you want to change a piece of track you've already chosen, simply put the new piece on top of the old one and it will be replaced. Once you've created a coaster, give it a test run with the "Submit" button, and see its score on the "Fear-o-Meter."
Fantasy Rollercoaster
You can play Fantasy Rollercoaster online in a limited version, or purchase the full version. The objective of the game is to go as fast as you can, getting as many shrieks from the riders as possible, without crashing. The coaster riders' cheers and screams of terror add up to hearts, which are the game's points. When you send the coaster lifting off the rails, the riders love it, but they don't love it when the coaster slams back down onto the track too hard, so players must balance speed with timely braking. The only controls used are the right and left arrow keys on a computer keyboard, for accelerating and braking.
