Crazy Sentences
Print out or draw a piece of grid paper, and add some crazy, funny, and random words to the chart--as well as a few more normal ones. Cut these out, and hand them to the people playing the game. See who can construct the craziest sentence. You can find a sample list on the Kids Make Stuff website, or you can easily make your own, just include different parts of speech: nouns, verbs, adverbs and adjectives..
Mad Glibs and Mad Libs
A lot of people may remember Mad Libs, a great party game that always had hilarious results. In the game, one person would sit with a specially written pad of paper and a pen, calling for various parts of speech: nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. After the list on the upper page is complete, the writer copies these words into the story on the lower page and then reads it aloud. Mad Glibs is an online version of that game.
The Sentence Game
With a piece of paper and a pen, you can make a crazy sentence even zanier. One player writes a silly sentence on the top of a piece of paper, then folds the top of the page down so he can pass it to another player. That player looks at the previous fold, draws an image based on the sentence and folds over the image. The next player has to write a sentence based on that image but never sees the original statement. Each player takes a turn looking only at the previous drawing or sentence until the paper is complete. Then, pass the page around for laughs.
Farragomate
In an online and casual atmosphere, you can play a game that feels like Magnetic Poetry with an audience. Log into the game, and find a round to play. Then, using the available words and the prompt, construct the most hilarious sentence you can. After each round, you reveal your sentences, and you and your opponents vote on their favorites. The sentences receive scores based on the votes, and a new round begins.
