Games & Exercises to Train Your Brain

As you age from childhood into adolescence, your brain develops and you begin to understand some complexities of life. On the other end of the spectrum, you begin to be forget and lose your memory when you age in retirement. However, there are exercises and games that you can play to sharpen your brain both during adolescence and old age.
  1. Sudoku

    • Sudoku is more than just a fun game where you attempt to solve a puzzle. It is a brain exercise that helps improve its function. Players attempt to place each number one through nine in a row, a column and a box without any repeats. Players receive some help by having a few digits revealed and must complete the nine-by-nine grid. This game stimulates your brain and helps hone your logical reasoning.

    Rubik's Cube

    • Anyone attempting to solve a Rubik's Cube knows how difficult and challenging it can be. Players attempt to unscramble a three-by-three cube by making every face the same color. Many strategies exist for the game including solving corners first and solving by layers. The process stimulates your visual memory and spatial intelligence.

    Memory Game

    • The game is simple but extremely effective in training your brain. You look at an image of something at random and have three seconds to memorize it as much as possible. Once three seconds are over you will be asked a specific question about the image. For example, the image could be the streets of Paris and you may be asked the color of the third house on the right. This exercises the visual memory part of your brain.
