Things You'll Need
Instructions
Create basic Pokemons for your deck by inventing your own Pokemon or by creating a card of an already existing one (see References for link). You will have to make sure that it has between 40-60 HP or between 60-100 HP if it does not evolve. You must also specify the name, type, retreat cost, resistance and weakness. You must then choose two attacks for the Pokemon, with a detailed description of each as well as damage dealt.
Invent evolved Pokemon (see References for link). Stage 1 can have between 60-80 HP, while Stage 2 can have between 80-120 HP. You must specify its name, type, weakness, resistance, retreat cost and up to three attacks with all the necessary information.
Form Trainer Cards (see References for link). This is where the mechanics of the game can get interesting, as you consider possibilities. For example, you can invent a Stadium Card that will affect both players in the match or you can simply create a Support Card for yourself that will help you defeat your opponent's Pokemons. In both cases, you have the freedom to choose any effect that a Trainer Card will produce. You just have to include the name, type and a description of the card.
Create Energy cards (see References for link) or use current ones already in the game. The only reason you will need to create a new Energy card is to have one that does not already exist in the game. A special Energy card, such as a Double Fire or a Triple Water, can take the place of three normal Energy cards and will greatly benefit you.
Avoid creating impossible or outrageously obnoxious cards. For example, you should not create a card that will allow you to win the game upon activation, nor you should create a Pokemon that can deal 1000 damage. Both are considered to be unfair and no player will battle you.
Assemble 60 cards, using both your formulated and already existing cards, to make your Pokemon deck. You are now ready to duel another player in a Pokemon trading card game battle. The rules should not change, however. You still should have only six prizes, players must have exactly 60 cards in a deck and unchanged battle mechanics.
