Drivers Permit Games

Driving is often a fun activity that empowers you to explore the world around you, reaching your destination in a fast, comfortable manner. However, driving is also an incredibly serious activity; when you drive you take your life and the lives of others into your hands. A way for young and potential drivers to prepare for this enormous responsibility is by driver permit games which educate them about the rules of the road.
  1. Danni The Driver

    • The website Chevroncars.com has a game called "Danni the Driver" that shows potential drivers important features of the road. The game stresses the importance of obeying the speed limit, reading signs and obeying stop signs. For example, using the shift key, you have to move a pink car through the twists and turns of a maze. Throughout the maze, turn signs, stop signs and one-way signs abound. If you don't follow the designated path, you don't get as many points and if you disobey any of the signs you get a penalty.

    Driver's Ed

    • The website Funny-games.biz has a game which tries to simulate the challenge of taking the road test as much as possible. Your goal in this game is to pass the road test without too many mistakes or demerits. You see an image of a mean looking driving instructor. The instructor gives you a command such as "Come to a stop at this stop sign" or "Make a right turn" or "Parallel park the car." Using your arrow keys, you need to manipulate the car as fluidly as possible without making a mistake. If you do make a mistake, the game makes a loud pounding noise and the instructor looks angry. If you make too many mistakes, the test will abruptly be over.

    The Driver's Ed Game

    • The website Driversed.com has a game called "The Driver's Ed Game." You start the game by selecting your driver's ed instructor, choosing from four possible characters: Jessica, the young, pretty instructor, Mr. Bumper, the older, goofier but very knowledgeable instructor, the boss lady who's strict and Johnny who's stern and smart. Once you select your instructor, you have the option of taking practice lessons from him, and learning how to make important maneuvers like left hand turns, how to approach a four-way stop and how to parallel park. Whenever you think you're ready for the final you can choose to take. it. The final exam will test you on everything you have learned. Unlike with other games, you have to perform these driving maneuvers on a very busy street, looking out for oncoming traffic. If you make a mistake, your instructor stops you and looks very upset and frustrated. You can change instructors at any time.
