Rearrange Your Space
Clean your bedroom and rearrange the furniture to give yourself a new outlook on your personal space. You can use posters or make your own wall art for wall design. Consider how you could rearrange your furniture to make the room more user-friendly or utilize more exotic design principles such as feng shui. Organize your closets or drawer space to save space.
Hold a Winter Sports Fest
There are plenty of sporting activities going on during the winter months. Make some snacks and invite a group of your friends over to a marathon of football or basketball on television. Holding a winter sports fest is particularly exciting during the Winter Olympics, as you only have an opportunity to do so once every four years.
Visit a Museum or Historical Site
The holiday season is an opportunity to relax away from school for a few weeks. However, you may find it enriching to take an afternoon for an educational activity during your winter vacation. Visit a local museum or find a site of historical interest near your home, and spend a day learning about the history of the area you live in.
Become a Volunteer
The holidays can be a lonely time for a lot of people. Spend some time at your local nursing home and visit with the elderly. Get involved in a community outreach program to help families in need during the holidays. Volunteering is a very small investment of time, but for the people you help or spend time with, it could mean the world.
Earn Money
There are ample opportunities for an able-bodied teen to earn money during the winter. If you live in an area that receives snow, offer to shovel your neighbors' walkways for a small fee. If you become successful enough, you might even consider purchasing a snow blower, allowing you to gain an even greater number of customers. To increase your earnings even more, get up early on the morning after a heavy snowfall and offer to brush snow off cars or scrape ice for $5. You might be surprised by the number of people who take you up on the offer.
