Animal Parks
San Diego offers three large animal parks: The San Diego Zoo, the Wild Animal Park and Sea World. If a family or group of friends has a multi-park pass (available at any park), they can a scavenger hunt between parks. Hunters could use the maps provided at each park entrance to help them find clues throughout each park, including animal facts, pictures of certain animals and ticket stubs.
Comic-Con
Comic-Con is an annual convention that happens each year in San Diego. While tickets sell out fast, a scavenger hunt can be done at the actual convention or around the city as the convention is happening. Items on a hunt list may include "find someone dressed as Batman and take a picture with him" or "The actress from an upcoming comic-book movie is speaking at 3:00 p.m., take a picture of her." Many people travel to Comic-Con and can be found dressed up throughout San Diego during the event, making it easy to have a Comic-Con scavenger hunt outside of the event itself.
Gaslamp District
The Gaslamp District is known for its restaurants, night clubs, bars and shops. A scavenger hunt in this area of San Diego could make for an entertaining night acquiring matchbooks, menus, ticket stubs, hand stamps and more from different venues. Turning a pub crawl or bar hop into a scavenger hunt makes for friendly competition amongst friends.
Famous People
San Diego is only two or three hours away from Los Angeles, so it's not surprising that there are many famous people who have been a part of events and activities in the southern city. A scavenger hunt list may use clues like "this hotel is where the Real Housewives of Orange County stayed when they visited San Diego - get a business card" or "Tori Spelling was in a parade that ran along this street - take a picture in front of the street sign." Use these clues to lead teams to places where they can pick up items or take photos to fulfill things on the list.
