Telephone scripture
Telephone is a game many played during youth, but the game is still entertaining for adults and is an easy and effective way to break the ice. To play the game, have everyone sit in a circle. Whisper a scripture to the person sitting next to you and have them whisper it in their neighbor's ear. As the scripture is repeated throughout the circle it will likely become twisted and become a statement that is entirely different. Once the message returns to you, say it out loud for the crowd to hear and then tell everyone what the original message was.
Christian charades
Divide attendees into teams, with at least three per team if there are more than six people present. Determine ground rules and establish a time limit. Hand out slips of paper to each person and direct them to write a short Christian topic. For example, a person could write one of the Ten Commandments, scripture, or the lyrics to a popular Christian song. Have an attendee draw a slip of paper. They must act out the Christian topic without speaking. Only members of that person's team should try to guess the answer. If a member of the team does in fact guess the correct phrase within the given time limit, that team gets a point.
Christian comedians
Take members of your event to a Christian comedy club. If there are no clubs in your area, check the schedule of regular comedy clubs to see if there are any Christian performances coming up. There are hundreds of Christian comedians in all parts of the U.S., and some will travel to provide a performance. If you are looking to entertain your church or a large Christian event, consider hiring a Christian comedian to perform.
